Booking of satellite meetings

Introduction
Satellite meetings are scheduled to allow organisations to take advantage of the presence of participants in Johannesburg. Some of these gatherings (such as Board meetings) are by invitation only; others are open for participants to join in freely. Satellite meetings can be held in the group/organisation’s language of choice. The SVRI will make limited provision for satellite meetings in allocating resources.  Priority will be given to groups such as researchers and activists. Organisations interested in having satellite meetings will be asked to cover their meeting costs.

Conditions
Restrictions apply to Satellite Meetings:

• Satellite Meetings cannot take place in parallel to the official programme.
• Satellite Meetings are independently organised.

Reservations and logistics
Satellite meetings' organisers are responsible for all arrangements (reservations, catering, IT, etc.).

All requests need to be approved by the SVRI for suitability to the programme and to the mission and mandate of theSVRI Forum 2009: Coordinated evidence-based responses to end sexual violence. A short description of the purpose of your satellite meeting for approval is required.

Publishing of Satellite Meeting information
Information on all confirmed satellite meetings will be published on the SVRI Forum 2009 website.
